"MOZART AND SALIERI"

one-act opera based on the tragedy of A.S. Pushkin

The third evening of the TAKT chamber music festival will open before the audience a picture of two famous operas - The Covetous Knight and Mozart and Salieri.

"Mozart and Salieri" is a work created by Nikolai Andreevich Rimsky-Korsakov as a tribute to another composer A. Dargomyzhsky.

Spectators often wish to see this opera on a large stage, while it was created specifically for the chamber space of small stages, on which all the versatility of images and musical themes is revealed.

In August 1903, the great Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff took up the famous Pushkin story from Little Tragedies. Rachmaninov made some insignificant textual changes to Pushkin's text: it was somewhat abbreviated, and the names of the characters underwent some changes. But the plot did not cease to be as fascinating and unusual as it was created by A.S. Pushkin.
